Terrorists Bombing Claimed 51 Lives In Baghdad, Iraq Today


Fresh terrorists bomb planted at a car dealership exploded on Thursday, February 16, killing about 51 people and inflicted severe wound on more than 61 others.

The death toll from the attack which took place in the southwestern Bayaa neighborhood of the country was reportedly confirmed by Iraqi officials.

According to Los Angeles Time, an Islamic State group known as the Sunni extremist (ISIS) claimed responsibility for the bombing in an online statement circulated by its Aamaq news agency.They also announced that the Shiites were their major target.

Reports said despite the group's stunt military forces in some areas in the country, they have launched near-daily attacks in the city of Baghdad. The US has lend its support on 
Iraqi forces to continually wage war against the terrorist group in the northern city of Mosul since October 2016.

Sunni terrorist groups include the Al-Qaeda, ISIS, the Nusra Front, Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula and Bayt al-Maqdis, and more than 90% of terrorist operations by Sunni groups are directed against Sunni communities in seven countries - Syria, Egypt, Sudan, Libya, Pakistan, Lebanon, Iraq etc that have witnessed acts of violence of varying degrees.

Thursday's attack was condemned by the US Department in a release statement written by 
Mark Toner, the department’s acting spokesman and it reads:
"We condemn in the strongest possible terms the horrible terrorist attacks carried out by ISIS targeting a car dealership in Baghdad, Iraq, today.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the victims’ families and friends, and wish a full and quick recovery to those injured."
