Donald Trump Won Electoral College Vote Confirming His Official Position As 45th President Of USA

The victory of Donald Trump is sealed as electors in all the 50 states in the US and District of Columbia formally voted him as president.

According to Reuters, the billionaire businessman who is set to assume office on January 20, 2017, garnered 304 electoral votes, much more than the 270 required for him to win the presidency.

Anti-Trump protesters had made huge efforts to prevent this outcome by urging electors not to cast their vote to the president-elect.

These Democratic activists who hated Trump, still wish electors would vote for their presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton - she won the nationwide popular vote but failed to win state-by-state votes in the November 8, 2016, US election.

In the United State, Electoral College vote is usually formality established in the US Constitution as a compromise between election of the President by a vote in Congress and election of the President by a popular vote of qualified citizens.

In his response to the victory, the Republican President-elect, Donald Trump said:
"I will work hard to unite our country and be the President of all Americans."
About 538 electors reportedly participated in the voting across the US, hence it was Trump's 304 votes against Clinton's 277 votes.
